Over the centuries Venice has faced countless moments of crisis and trial, yet it has always managed to regenerate and revive itself. Its history of multiple births and rebirths has enabled the city to flourish despite the challenges posed by changing times.<\/p>\n
The exhibition VENETIA 1600. Births and rebirths<\/em> at Doge’s Palace offers an unprecedented reading of the history of the Serenissima that identifies an innovative interpretative model with its concept of birth and rebirth to decipher its past, for reflecting on a possible, optimistic future of the city.<\/p>\n To illustrate the most outstanding moments of the history and identity of Venice, the exhibition will exhibit works by some of the greatest artists, architects and men of letters who worked in the lagoon over the past millennium. The exhibition will include important paintings by Carpaccio, Tiziano, Veronese, Tiepolo, Canaletto, Guardi and many others, as well as a selection of miniatures, prints, drawings, fabrics, sculptures, ceramics, architectural models, glass and everyday objects. \nParticular attention will be given to some of the most representative monuments in the city, such as the St. Mark\u2019s Basilica, the Doge’s Palace, the Rialto Bridge, the Fondaco dei Tedeschi, the churches of the Redentore and Santa Maria della Salute, the Gran Teatro La Fenice theatre and the Bell Tower of St. Mark\u2019s Square, up to and including the major museums and cultural institutions of contemporary Venice.<\/p>\n
