Photographic Archive of the Musei Civici di Venezia
The Photographic Archive of the Musei Civici di Venezia is located at the Correr Museum and preserves historical photographic materials relating to the Musei Civici and the city of Venice.
It contains black and white negatives, on glass and film support, divided into two main sections:
1. Fondo Museo: reproductions of artworks belonging to the Musei Civici di Venezia;
2. Fondo Varie: reproductions of works from museums outside the Foundation, views of the city, and other photographic materials.
Historical photographic prints are also available, some derived from the above-mentioned negatives, preserved in topographical or thematic binders: views of Venice, palaces, churches, artworks and historical museum displays in the Musei Civici, exhibitions.
Anyone interested may consult the photographic material on site, by appointment.
Digital reproduction service
It is possible to request photographic reproductions and/or authorization to publish works belonging to the collections of the Musei Civici di Venezia by filling out the online form.
Cost of reproduction
The costs of reproduction and any rights to use the images are calculated and communicated based on the purpose of the request and the type of digital image requested. The acquisition of photographs on the various museums of the Fondazione is reserved to the personnel.
Exemptions
The Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia reserves the right not to apply reproduction rights if the request is aimed at improving knowledge of the Museums or for study purposes, degree theses, tourism promotion, and other specific cases.

Access information
Entrance through the main doorway at No. 52, St. Mark’s Square, Procuratie Nuove, to the left of Caffè Florian. From the entrance, proceed to the second courtyard on the right, following the signs for the Correr Library and the Musei Civici Administration, then take the elevator to the third floor.
Once at the Correr Library, please inform a member of staff.
